Parent Workshop on Anxiety and Emotional Wellbeing Delivered by CAMHS
3 June 2026On Wednesday 3rd June, we welcomed the CAMHS Mental Health Support Team to our school to deliver a parent workshop focusing on anxiety, emotional regulation, and behaviour in children and young people.
The session provided parents and carers with practical strategies to better understand the connection between emotions, behaviour, and mental wellbeing. Parents explored how anxiety can present differently in children, including through avoidance, irritability, anger, withdrawal, or challenging behaviour, and learned how these responses are often linked to a child’s attempt to manage difficult feelings. We also looked at different strategies to try at home to support anxiety.
The workshop offered a valuable opportunity for parents to share experiences, ask questions, and gain confidence in supporting their child’s emotional wellbeing. Feedback from attendees highlighted the usefulness of the practical tools and the reassurance that many families face similar challenges.
We would like to thank all parents and carers who attended and engaged so positively in the session. We look forward to continuing to work together to support the emotional health and wellbeing of our children and young people.
