At John Hampden, we have a keen team of Y6 Sports Ambassadors who play an active role in promoting, organising and delivering more sporting opportunities for our pupils. They regularly take the lead in a variety of different ways, including running and organising activities during their own PE sessions and playing a key part in whole-school activities, such as our ‘Multi-Sports’ days, our ‘Excalibur’ inter-house competitions and Sports Days. They are a valuable asset in raising the profile of PE and sport in our school.
“It is a pleasure to be a Sports Ambassador at John Hampden and it’s really fun! It’s great coaching younger children in different sports and helping them find the sports they are good at. We have to be really responsible and willing to sometimes give up some of our own time to do things for the school. We get to help set-up the equipment for PE lessons and also keep the PE garage tidy”
“I’m proud to be a JHS Sports Ambassador. We help set-up for our PE lessons, run clubs for other children in the school, help out on Sports Day and in the Excalibur Challenge and look after all the sports equipment. I love playing all sports and enjoy being part of the Sports Ambassador team. It’s great seeing all the children at JHS being fit and healthy.”
