At John Hampden, we have a keen team of Y6 Sports Ambassadors who play an active role in promoting, organising and delivering more sporting opportunities for our pupils. They regularly take the lead in a variety of different ways, including running and organising activities during their own PE sessions and playing a key part in whole-school activities, such as our ‘Multi-Sports’ days, our ‘Excalibur’ inter-house competitions and Sports Days. They are a valuable asset in raising the profile of PE and sport in our school.
“I am so proud to be a John Hampden Sports Ambassador because I love sport and it’s great to encourage other people to enjoy and take part in more sports too. I like setting-up PE lessons and helping out whenever I can, and I really enjoy Sports Day!”
“Being a Sports Ambassador means that you are a role model to the younger year groups across the school. I love running activities and clubs for the other children in the school to help them be more active and enjoy more sports. It’s great helping to organise and run things in our Y6 PE lessons too!”
