Sports Ambassadors

At John Hampden, we have a keen team of Y6 Sports Ambassadors who play an active role in promoting, organising and delivering more sporting opportunities for our pupils. They regularly take the lead in a variety of different ways, including running and organising activities during their own PE sessions and playing a key part in whole-school activities, such as our ‘Multi-Sports’ days, our ‘Excalibur’ inter-house competitions and Sports Days. They are a valuable asset in raising the profile of PE and sport in our school.
“I wanted to be a Sports Ambassador because I love sport and really enjoy encouraging other people in sport too. I like supporting different sports and activities across the school, including Sports Day, cross country trials, Excalibur and multisports. And I love it when sport brings different people together.!”
“I’ve always loved sport and I want to help everyone in our school have a go at different activities and find the sport that they love. Everyone needs physical education to help them keep fit and healthy. I’ve wanted to be a Sports Ambassador since I was in Year 1!”
“I love being a Sports Ambassador because it’s fun to be a leader of my favourite thing! I do loads of different sports in and out of school. I like that we have loads of different jobs to do like helping out with sport across the school. I like encouraging and supporting people to get involved who wouldn’t normally play much sport. I want to help younger pupils build confidence and try new sports.”
