Unusually, I’ll start by talking about this evening because we have just jad a circle time reflection with the children, talking about the week and it was emotional! I speak for everyone when I say that the children have done all of us proud this week. They have pushed themselves; been positive; encouraged one another and genuinely been a pleasure to come away with. Listening to them talk about and congratulate one another was heart-warming and their anecdotes were hilarious. I hope noone has plans for the weekend because they all have many stories to tell!
Once again, we had a drag children out of bed but after a hearty breakfast of cereal, porridge and beans on toast we were were all once more ready and raring to go!

We knew Jack Frost had visited last night but the cold air as we walked out of the centre took our breath away! In spite of this, we wrapped up in 4, 5 or in some cases 6 layers and braved the elements! The cave was undesputably the warmest place but coming out again in wet clothes was a lesson in endurance that some of us will never forget! Thank goodness for warm changes of clothes and heated minibuses!
Back at the centre we had a delicious meal of pasta bolognase and Vienetta and then the real hard work began…packing to come home!
The teachers dread to think how little has been done but we are predicting an early start and A LOT of chivvying along before our final day. We will all be mountain walking and judging by the mountains today, we could be treated to a bit of snow!
We are all looking forward to coming home tomorrow. Make sure your washing baskets are empty before we return!
