Brrrrrrrrrr…it was chilly today! The teachers woke to news that there was snow in Thame and, not to be outdone, we looked out of the windows to snow-capped mountains! We are all hoping the snow stays for our mountain walk on Friday.
It took a bit of effort to get some of the children out of bed this morning but they managed it and after cereal and bacon butties, we layered up ready for another day of activities:
Group 1 – High Ropes and Climbing
Group 2 – Canoeing
Group 3 – Caving
Group 4 – Climbing and High Ropes
Group 5 – Caving
Everyone rushed for a hot shower when they arrived back at the centre and we all enjoyed a delicious meal of curry, followed by jam sponge and custard. Stories circulated the dining room with tales of their adventures and it was lovely to hear children talk about fears they had conquered and new friendships they’ve made.
After swapping over for night activities we met up once more for a hot chocolate before bed. It’s going to be a cold night and another bitter day tomorrow but we know the children will not be detered and will face tomorrow’s challenges with the same enthusiasm they have shown us all week.
