Place of the Pyramids: Ancient Egypt

28/05/2021 by Justin Eyre

This term our topic has been ‘Place of the Pyramids: Ancient Egypt’. The children started the term with a flight to Egypt, getting their passports stamped! We then found out more about Ancient Egypt; we learnt about the food Egyptians used to eat, about the pyramids, about some of the Ancient Egyptian Gods and in Arts Week we created some fabulous crafts including clay amulets, gold jewellery and pull along toys. Throughout the term we have also learnt lots about mummification and we wrapped our own Pharoah, created a sarcophagus and finished the topic with a parade and burial. The children have really enjoyed this term and seem to have learnt lots!
