Epic 26 Mile Cycle Ride in Aid of Javan Rhinos

Ella Bradley and Imogen Clark wanted to” make a difference”!! Together they organised a challenging 26 mile cycle for the little known and endangered Javan Rhino. The girls managed to rally together a great cycle team of friends (from year 6 at John Hampden), family and teachers for the event. On Sunday 17th May 2015 at 10 o’clock everyone met at the entrance to the Phoenix Trail at the Thame Leisure centre. Thankfully the weather was kind and provided perfect cycling conditions. The course was long and, as you can imagine, full of obstacles, dogs, walkers and other bike riders! This did not stop them however and astonishingly every single cyclist finished the course in what seemed like, break neck speed!!

Ella and Imogen had set themselves and their fellow cyclists a massive £800 target, which we thought at the beginning was a little over adventurous. But to all our astonishment this was blown away and the total to date is an incredible £1092!!! This is now on its way to the wonderful WWF organisation, via the just giving website. The girls would dearly love to thank the following participants for their support and for helping with the incredible fundraising effort: Mr Eyre, Mr Nutt, Mrs Fields. Beth Buchanan, Cara Longwell, Felicity Clark, Georgia Hedges, India Yates, Katy Palmer, Olivia Bradley, Maisie Saeed, Sophie Barret and Thomas Sutton.

Thank you all and a massive congratulations. You are all stars.
