Bike Ride To Save Tigers
Following a discussion in Miss Farrow’s Year 5 class about tigers being an endangered species, Ella Bradley and Imogen Clark were upset and wanted to do something to help. Therefore, they organized a sponsored bike ride and invited class mates to join them in raising funds to help protect tigers. On a cold but bright Sunday morning in November 2013, Imogen and Ella were joined by Imogen’s sister Felicity from Year 6, Alice Hawthorne from Year 4 and class mates Thomas S, Thomas F, Cara, Skye, India and Molly. Mr. Eyre, Mrs. Schleising and a few keen parents accompanied and supported the bike riders on their gruelling 20 mile ride along the Phoenix Trail. It was a huge challenge but their worthy cause and camaraderie kept the riders smiling and pedalling! Their bike ride raised an incredible £723.70 in sponsorship money that they donated to the World Wildlife Fund. This money has gone to sponsor Kamrita, a female tiger who lives in the Chitwan National Park in the country of Nepal in Asia. A huge well done to Imogen and Ella and to all involved!
